A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that produces the results. The directory's own servers do not retain a copy of those search terms. If you send a message, the information in that message is used to answer it.

Like most websites, the service and its providers may process standard technical information needed to deliver a page, prevent abuse, and understand basic traffic. This can include an IP address, browser type, device details, referring page, and timestamps. It is not a public-records file about a visitor.

Links and Search Providers
County and state portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools have their own privacy practices. Their rules control information entered after leaving this site or submitting a form they provide. Review that provider's policy before supplying personal data.
Who May Receive Data
Service providers may receive the limited data needed to host the site, deliver analytics, prevent fraud, or operate search results. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or needed to protect users, the service, or the public.
Security Practices
Reasonable safeguards are used for the information the directory handles. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed secure. Avoid including sensitive personal information in a general message unless it is necessary.
Visitors Under 18
The directory is not designed for children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may contact the site to request review or deletion where applicable.
Your Information Choices
You may ask about personal information held in a contact message or limited service record by using the Contact page. Michigan official materials reviewed for the directory did not establish a broad statewide consumer-privacy deletion statute with a universal opt-out right, so the applicable rule can depend on the data and provider. Public records held by Michigan, Washtenaw County, Ypsilanti Township, or another custodian are outside the directory's control. A correction or removal request for those records goes to the custodian.
